Celebrating Raffie at Two: A Very Special Birthday at Woofland

Today at Woofland, we’re celebrating a very special birthday. Raffie has officially turned two.
I’ve known Raffie for almost a year and a half, and in that time he has grown into one of those dogs who quietly leaves a mark on everyone around him. Raffie is happy, goofy, and undeniably special. He has a sensitive side that makes him incredibly aware of the dogs and people around him, and that awareness shapes how he plays, interacts, and connects.

One of Raffie’s most charming features is his chubby body, which somehow makes everything he does a little funnier and a lot cuter. And if you’ve ever seen him up close, you’ll notice the little black spot on his tongue, a tiny detail that makes him instantly recognisable and uniquely Raffie.

What truly sets Raffie apart, though, is his intelligence. He completely abandoned standard fetch on his own terms. Instead of dropping the ball and waiting for it to be thrown, he created his own game. Raffie holds the ball in his mouth, walks up to the dogs he loves, and gently teases them, inviting interaction rather than chasing repetition. This isn’t accidental play. It’s deliberate, social, and thoughtful. In all my years around dogs, this is something I had never observed before.

Raffie doesn’t just play. He communicates. He chooses who to engage with and how, showing emotional awareness and creativity that reflects just how smart he is.
Dogs like Raffie are a big part of what makes Woofland feel like more than just a dog daycare and boarding facility. Watching him grow, learn, and express himself over the past year and a half has been a privilege. He brings joy without effort, warmth without demand, and a quiet kind of happiness that spreads through the space around him.
I love this dog, and I’m genuinely grateful to have him in my life and as part of Woofland.
Happy 2nd birthday, Raffie.
